1) The G.F. " La Gioconda " - Oratorio di Paderno Ponchielli organizes the Eleventh National Photographic Competition, First International

PORTFOLIO 2007

for non-professional photographers only. The aim of the competition is to reward the continuity in the works of the candidates. Therefore eight prints are required, indifferently in black and white and/or colour.

The judgment of the Jury will be based on the entire submitted work, with particular regard to:

style and technique;                                                                   

coherence of subjects;

originality of the works.

Therefore the entire portfolio could be or not be accepted; the portfolios that will have gained the highest evaluations will have access to prizes and notes.

2) Prints, unframed, must be 30-40 centimeters on the major side. Smaller prints also might be sent, as long as they are applied on a piece of thin pasteboard of those dimensions. On the back of the prints must readable: progressive number; title of the work; full name and address of the Author; ANAF card number if owned; club name, if member.

 3) Works that will be sent in without the entrance fee, or in any other way not in conformity with this regulations, will neither be judged nor sent back . 

4) The promoters, although assuring the best care for the submitted works, decline any responsibility for theft, damage or else, during both transport and permanence in Paderno Ponchielli.

5) Each Author is responsible for the subject matter presented in the submitted works. The promoters are enabled to use images and data in self-edited publications, if not strictly forbidden by a written request of the Author of the images himself.

6) The members of G.F. " La Gioconda " will not be participating to the competition.

7) The judgment of the jury is not open to appeal. The participation to the competition requires the total acceptance of the resent regulations.

 8) ACCEPTED WORKS WILL BE SHOWN IN SAN ROCCO CHURCH IN PADERNO PONCHIELLI.

WORKS AND FEE SENDING

Prints, carefully packed and with a cover reusable for returning, and the entry form (Modulo per invio STAMPE.doc), filled in and signed, must be sent post free to:

Digital file images will also be admitted: the G.F. " LA GIOCONDA " will provide for the printing at a trusted workshop before the judgment of the Jury.

The prints edited with this procedure will be 30cm on the major side: for this reason it is recommended that the major side of the file image is at least 3.000 pixels. Smaller prints might be edited only on Author’s specific request.

To avoid any misunderstanding with the Author, files will be normally printed without any revision by technicians. Small corrections (e.g. bright or color cast) must be previously approved by the Author.

The cost of each print is  € 2,50  ($3.25).     

Files must be Windows compatible (no Mac).

They may be sent:

ü     on Cd-rom (which will not be returned) to the above address.

ü     by e-mail to info@gflagioconda.it. In this case, each file must have format .jpg and the file dimensions must be no more than 1,5 Mb. It is not allowed to send in one e-mail file images from more Authors.

In both cases the entry form must be attached (Modulo per invio DIGITALE.doc).

The entrance fee of € 15,00 or $ 20,0  (€ 13,00 or $ 17,00 for ANAF members) and the refund for the file images printing, if necessary, also must be sent to the same address. It might be paid by cash, PayPal (email: info@gflagioconda.it , add to the fee 0,90 € or 1,20 $ for the charge), through bank transfer on:  (code IBAN IT 94 0 08454 56710 000000032836, holder  Calza – Antonioli at Banca Cremonese di Credito Cooperativo, branch Casalbuttano).

It is necessary to write in the description the full name of the candidate.
